teen years. BMD is the main factor in
whether a person gets osteoporosis and may suffer
its complications later in life.

pedometers and monitored their steps for 12 weeks. Students in this
study all ended up doing more physical activity both in in-school
and in after-school activities. Their cardiorespiratory fitness increased.
Body fat and waist-to-height ratios decreased. The leisure-time
physical activity remained high for a year
