MISSION & PHILOSPHY

OUR APPROACH

We offer a blended approach, combining state-of-the-art and traditional therapies. Dr. McColman will customize a treatment plan for you, which may include:

BioFlex Laser:

When the body has an injury, the cells are damaged and fail to function within normal parameters. Low Level Lasers penetrate deeply into the skin and work by restoring this abnormal cellular function. Physiologic effects include improved metabolism, circulation and tissue healing.

Active Release Techniques (ART)®:

ART ® is a patented, state-of-the-art soft tissue system that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. ART ® provides a way to locate, diagnose, and treat the underlying causes of cumulative trauma disorders.

Graston Technique®:

The Graston ® Technique is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and restrictions. The Technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.

Chiropractic Care/Adjustments:

Chiropractic is a branch of health sciences, which focuses upon the body's neuro-musculoskeletal system, meaning the nervous systems, muscles, joints, bones, and other kinds of soft tissues. We use a variety of techniques to release joint restrictions and regain normal range of motion.

Nutrition:

Improper nutrition can have a dramatic effect on how your body functions and its healing process. We can recommend a nutrition program for you in order to give your body the tools it needs to get recover and maintain health.

Steps to Health and Wellness:

To restore balance in the body and relieve tension, one must look at all aspects of the body. The physiological, the biochemical, the biomechanical, and the psychological. A dysfunction in any one of the these areas can lead to dis-ease in the body. If you will, an abscess of ease, allowing for pathological disease and retarded healing from injuries.

Therefore, one must re-establish or restore:

  1. normal cellular function
  2. sources of connective tissue-fascia tensigrity (pain-free unrestircted movement)
  3. nervous system function
  4. healthy immune system
  5. healthy body composition
  6. nourish organs, glands and tissue with appropriate foods and dietary supplementation
  7. proper digestion, assimilation and elimination processes, adding digestive enzymes and probiotic flora when necessary
  8. the body's ability to manage environmental toxicities from the air, water and food we consume
  9. the body's ability to recognise and re-train and/or avoid allergies and sensitivities (food and environmental)
  10. the body's ability to constructively manage stress from environmental an pyschological origins

Attaining and promoting the above allows the body to function optimally and to heal without restrictions.

"Whether doctor, therapist or patient, our ignorance should not impede the body's ability to heal and function".
